One of my favorite projects to date, the creation of Fuzz Magazine allowed me to relish in a love of print design. Maximalist at its core, Fuzz is big on abundance and whimsy.

Welcome to the world of Fuzz magazine, your new favorite (fictional) publication. I designed Fuzz for a 2024 Magazine Design Technology class at Cal Poly. With weekly peer critiques, I honed a vision for Fuzz, one of timeless maximalism. I wanted the magazine to have modern flair while appealing to multiple generations. Above is the magazine’s cover. Below take a look at some selected pages.

I chose Fuzz to be a decorating magazine to reflect a passion of my own; I love designing pieces of a home from bedrooms to tablescapes. For the guts of the magazine I chose subjects and decorative pieces I would choose to live in my own home.

A large focus when creating this magazine was proper file preparation. That being said, I brought all of the images / links into photoshop and resized each to their actual size within the publication. I made sure that each link had appropriate and recognizable names, that each had not been scaled, and that each was at least 150 effective ppi.
